Listen • Learn • Act

During my time on the Hillsboro School Board & the House Committee on Education my belief that education is the key to opportunity has been solidified. I have been a vocal advocate for making sure our schools have the resources they need to retain teachers, reduce class size, and make strategic investments in CTE & dual-credit programs. I am running for re-election of the Oregon House to continue to make sure our students, teachers, and schools are at the forefront of the conversation.

I love the community where my husband and I have raised our boys. I believe that Oregon is a special place to live, work, and recreate. As a legislator, I have worked to protect our natural resources and beautiful state. Clean air and access to clean water is a right for us all and we should not jeopardize those resources for the sake of our future generations.

As a legislator and community member I know that small business is the backbone of our economy. As a parent, I know how important it is for students to build the skills necessary to get good paying jobs. In Salem, I have continually raised the concern of the rising cost of college, and have worked to create partnerships with local businesses to ensure students have the ability to study, train, and update their skills to compete for good-paying jobs while they are still in high school and continue after they graduate.

I take my oath of office seriously and understand the gravity that it holds. I’m honored that you’ve trusted me to represent you. I appreciate this opportunity and humbly ask for your support. ~Janeen Sollman for State Senate
